(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held several activities in predominantly Chinese neighborhoods on two weekends in late August and early September 2023. They demonstrated the exercises and told people about the persecution being carried out by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in China. Many people expressed their support and admiration.
Belleville, a major Chinese neighborhood in Paris, might be one of the largest Chinatowns in Europe. Practitioners set up a booth in Belleville, where they did the exercises and clarified the truth to passersby. Many people came to talk with practitioners and asked for information.
The local police on duty made sure that practitioners were not disturbed. They told them, “If anyone disturbs you or causes trouble, please tell us.”

Murieme is retired and lives near Belleville. She’d heard about the CCP committing genocide before, which she said was hard to believe. When she learned that practitioners in China were persecuted and subjected to organ harvesting without anesthesia, she was appalled.
She said she’s traveled to China and admires traditional Chinese culture. However, she dislikes the Chinese Communist Party and finds it unacceptable. She said, “People’s lives are not important to the Party. No one knows what is happening in China. Chinese people’s lives are worthless to the CCP.”
Murieme supports practitioners in their efforts to expose the persecution.
She strongly supports practitioners’ efforts to expose the persecution and asked practitioners for more leaflets. She said she would share the information with her neighbors and friends. She said, “I will help you spread the news.”
Marième, who has lived in Chinatown for nearly 30 years, works as a secretary in a Paris company. For years, she has let others in Chinatown know just how terrible the CCP is.
Marième admires Falun Dafa’s values.
After she learned about Falun Dafa’s values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she expressed her firm support. “We need these values in our lives,” she said. She also said she would tell people nearby about Falun Dafa.
Introducing Falun Dafa to Local Residents
Located in the 3rd arrondissement (district) in Paris, Chinatown is frequented by many young people and Chinese. Those who live here, including young Chinese, are already aware of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.
Michael practices Falun Dafa. He said that the Chinese who came to the booth were usually young and had been educated in France. Most of them accepted the informational materials about the persecution. One of his classmates, who is Chinese, said that he often saw Falun Dafa practitioners marching in other European countries and knew that Falun Dafa was respected in the West.
Michael’s girlfriend was worried at first and did not dare to accept any information, although she knew that the CCP always lies. She finally took a Minghui special edition magazine and agreed to read it.
She also had a frank discussion with Michael and listened to what he said about Falun Dafa. He explained that, because the CCP’s lies and censorship tactics are being exposed, it has no choice but to use violence and threats to prevent people from learning the truth. Thankfully, more people are seeing the truth for themselves.
Michael added, “Falun Dafa is spreading in Chinatown, and many French people expressed their support for and appreciation of Falun Dafa. One man asked for our phone number and planned to contact us in the future to organize a group practice activity at his company that has 2500 employees.”
Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.
Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology, and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.
Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 24 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.
There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
