(Minghui.org) I had many illnesses including heart disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis with ascites, insomnia, leg pain, and hyperthyroidism. A doctor once told me that hepatitis was incurable because the virus was in the blood, and the best scenario would be that it did not get worse. My daughter also told me that cirrhosis with ascites had no cure. I was very frail. My skin was yellow, my hair was brittle, and my teeth were falling out. The doctors told me I had less than five years to live. I was tortured by the illnesses every day.

After I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, all my ailments disappeared. I was healthy and my joy was indescribable. When I had a medical exam that was required for the retirement process, there was no trace of cirrhosis or hepatitis. This astonished my family, friends, doctors, and even the local police. They all witnessed the extraordinary and miraculous nature of Falun Dafa.

I’m now in my 70s, and I’m full of energy. I walk briskly and feel healthier than when I was young. I didn’t become infected with COVID or experience any illness symptoms. I know Master compassionately protected me. Falun Dafa completely transformed me.

In 1999, former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Jiang Zemin used his power to defame Falun Dafa and brutally persecute practitioners. I went to the Beijing Appeals Office with another practitioner to seek justice for Dafa. Before we could enter, a group of plainclothes police surrounded us and asked what we were doing. I replied truthfully, “We are here to appeal and seek justice for Falun Dafa.” They immediately arrested us.

An officer wanted to put us into a police car, but every police car that came by was full of practitioners. He had to get a taxi to take us to the government guesthouse. During the ride, I took the opportunity to clarify the truth to him. He said, “I know everything, but Jiang Zemin decided to do this. Don’t you remember the June 4th incident [Tiananmen Square massacre]? Why are you still so naive?”

Once we arrived, the officer asked the driver for a receipt, but the driver said they had ran out due to the high volume of passengers. This frustrated the officer, who complained to us about missing his lunch and having to pay out of his own pocket for the taxi and food. I remembered what Master said about considering others and thinking from their perspective, so I handed him 50 yuan, which he refused. I said, “Please take it. Doing your job is not easy. As Falun Dafa practitioners, we follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and strive to be good people.” I tucked the money into his pocket.

Moved by my sincerity, his demeanor changed, and he became kind to us. He said, “I won’t lock you in the metal cage. I’ll hand you two over to your local police.” I suggested he release us, but he explained, “That would be difficult because too many people saw me taking you.”

As we headed upstairs we encountered a group led by a man the others addressed as, “section chief.” He asked the officer if we practiced Falun Dafa and why we weren’t taken to the basement. Then, he yelled at me, “You don’t have a clue! You came to Beijing to cause trouble! You oppose the CCP!”

I said, “Falun Dafa improves people’s health and teaches people to become better. I’m a laid-off worker, and I support my family through street vending. I can barely afford the travel expenses to come here. But I still came, because I really want the government to understand Falun Dafa.”

Hearing my heartfelt words, the section chief’s demeanor softened, and tears welled up in his eyes. He turned away, looking visibly moved. At that moment, a woman stormed over, cursing and attempting to strike me. The chief intervened, grabbed her arm, and said, “Compared to this Falun Dafa practitioner, what kind of person are you?” Many people witnessed the scene. Her face turned red and she left in silence. Later, I learned that she was a judge who was called to Beijing from another place and was assigned to participate in the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.

The section chief said, “Coming to Beijing isn’t easy. Stay here for a few days. You can eat at our cafeteria and visit scenic spots during the day. If you need money to get tickets, let me know.”

I thanked him, and replied, “I appreciate it, but my family is waiting for me at home.” The officer who brought me there asked if I had enough money for a return ticket, and I assured him I did.

Just like that, I returned home safely. Moved by the compassion and goodwill of Falun Dafa practitioners, the section chief made the right choice.
