Ms. Li Fenglan was on a train to Tieling City on January 18, 2024, when officers from the Beizhan Police Station arrested her for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked and she was detained for 10 days.
Around 4 p.m. on January 18, 2024, Liu Haizhi, head of the Domestic Security Division, and others went to the homes of three practitioners. They arrested five practitioners. They first went to Mr. Shi Baosheng’s home in Dayubu Town, Yi County, and arrested him. Then they went to Mr. Qin Shuhai’s home, also in Yi County, and arrested him, Ms. Chu Hongfen, and Mr. Li Guibin, who were all reading Zhuan Falun together.
Mr. Li and Ms. Chu are being held in the Jinzhou Detention Center, reportedly for 15 days. Mr. Qin and Mr. Shi are being held in the Yi County Detention Center and face prison terms. The police claim that many Falun Gong items were confiscated from Mr. Qin’s home.
Mr. Qin’s relative called Ms. Liu, and a police car arrived downstairs at Mr. Qin’s home. The officers drove Ms. Liu to her home, ransacked the place, and confiscated many items. Further details are not yet available. Ms. Liu is currently being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center and will be sentenced to prison.
Mr. Yu Tianjian was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center in the Ganjingzi District in June 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Mr. Yu refused to be “transformed.” Guo, a brainwashing center employee, was angry and called in members of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC) to coerce and pressure Mr. Yu to renounce his belief. They failed. Mr. Yu returned home after being held for five or six days. Mr. Yu was put on the CCP’s blacklist and was monitored around the clock. He was also followed wherever he went.
In 2021, when Mr. Yu returned to his hometown of Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, to take care of his father who was paralyzed and bedridden, personnel from the Dalian PLAC and the 610 Office notified the local police to follow and monitor him. After his father passed away, he headed back to Dalian City. He was taken to the Suihua Railway Station guard room by officers from the railway station. He later returned to Dalian.
In 2022, Mr. Yu and his family went to Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, to work. The Dalian PLAC and the 610 Office again notified the local PLAC to harass them. Mr. Yu and his family were taken to the Caobu Police Station in Guzhen Town, Guangzhou City. He and his family refused to sign any paperwork at the police station. Leaders of the company where Mr. Yu worked could not put up with the troubles the police were causing, so Mr. Yu and his family had to return to Dalian City, where the police often called and harassed him over the phone. When he went out to talk to people about Falun Gong, the Dalian PLAC and 610 Office told the police to harass him at his home.
