(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The Longkou Court sentenced Ms. Jiao Linghui to two years in prison and Ms. Chen Guifang to one year in prison on March 12, 2024.
Ms. Hao Chunlan, who lives in the Zoujiazhuang, Wanquan District, was followed by plainclothes officers after she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was arrested downstairs at her son’s home on the afternoon of March 12, 2024.
Liu Xingkun, 85, gender unknown, and Ms. Lu Yeli, 69, were arrested by Ling’an Police Station officers on March 12, 2024. Their homes were ransacked. Liu was released, but Lu is being held at the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.
Mr. Jing Changxu was arrested at home by six officers from the Anyue County Yueyang Town Police Station on the evening of March 9, 2024. The police ransacked his home and seized his computer, more than 1,000 yuan in paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them, Falun Gong books, and other items. He was released around 4:00 a.m.
He was arrested at home again by three officers on the evening of March 10. They gave his wife a detention notification and took him to the Anyue County Detention Center. There has not any news about him since then.
Ms. Liang Jun and Ms. Hong Yanrong were arrested on July 14, 2023. Their cases were sent to the Funing District Procuratorate.
Ms. Liang’s mother and Ms. Hong’s sister, both nearly 80, went to the procuratorate four times, but prosecutor Li Wenming refused to accept their statements.
Ms. Du, first name unknown, in her 50s, was arrested in Dajingmen area on March 13, 2024 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Cao Zhifang and his wife, Ms. Yang Fang, where arrested with five other practitioners in Li Zhigang’s home by Liuyang City Police Department officers on October 27, 2020. They were sentenced to three-years-and-four-months in prison on December 24, 2020. The couple was released on February 27, 2024, after they completed their prison terms.
Ms. Wang Yali was seen on surveillance cameras when she distributed Falun Gong flyers in early February, 2024. She was arrested at home by Longwangtang Police Station officers around 8:00 a.m. on February 25, 2024. They ransacked her home and seized over 50 Falun Gong books, two pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, paper currency with Falun Gong messages printed on them, a computer, a cell phone, and her resident identity card. She is now under house arrest.
