(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Bai Xutong was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong on the train from Shijiazhuang City to Yangzhou City on February 27, 2024. Twelve officers went to her home after 10 p.m. on March 14, 2024. She was arrested and held in a brainwashing center for two weeks. She was later transferred to the Yangmiao Detention Center, where she is still held.
Four practitioners, Ms. Li Hongmei, Ms. Xu Yamei, Chen Zhongcun, and Feng Zhixian, were tried in the Qilin District Court on April 7, 2024. Ms. Li Hongmei was sentenced to 5 to 6 years in prison; Ms. Xu Yamei was sentenced to 3 to 4 years in prison; Chen Zhongcun was sentenced to 2 years in prison and Feng Zhixian was sentenced to 3 years in prison. They all refused to sign the court papers.
Ms. Xing Jinyun was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison in November or December of 2023. She has been detained there since then. Her family is not allowed to visit her.
Many practitioners were harassed during the Two Sessions of the Chinese Communist Party. Ms. Xiang Yan from the Xiling District has been missing for more than three weeks.
Zhang Xu was arrested on April 3, 2024.
Ms. Lin Xianghua, 78, was reported to police for giving a USB drive that had truth clarifying information to a neighbor on the morning of January 19, 2024. Officers from the Hanshuiqiao Police Station in the Qiaokou District came to her home. They ransacked it and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, pendants, etc. Ms. Lin was taken to the police station for interrogation. She was released at around 10 p.m.
Several police officers and staff members of the Yingfangbeicun Community went to Ms. Lin’s home on the morning of April 1, 2024. They ransacked it again and confiscated her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder, laptop, truth-clarifying materials, etc. Ms. Lin was taken to the Hanshuiqiao Police Station for interrogation. She was then taken to the No.1 Detention Center of Wuhan City, but was denied admission due to her high blood pressure. She was released at around 7 p.m.
Ms. Han Yuhua from Longhua County stayed in her daughter’s home in Beijing to take care of her grandchild. She was arrested when she went out to distribute truth clarifying materials, and she was detained for 37 days. She was released on bail pending trial. Her home was ransacked, and many personal belongings were confiscated. She must report to the police and get permission if she wants to leave the area.
Mr. Sun Fa from Linkou County, in his 50s, was arrested in Beijing in early April 2024. He was escorted back by officers from the Linkou County Police Department. His home was ransacked.
Three practitioners, Ms. Wang Xiumei, Ms. Li Lian’e, and Ms. Zheng Feng’e, were arrested at 7 a.m. on February 26, 2024. They were later taken and detained in the No. 3 Detention Center of Handan City. Ms. Zheng Feng’e was released on April 3, 2024.
Ms. Li Lixia from Qiaoxi District was seen on surveillance cameras when she cleaned the display board in a small park. She was arrested by officers from the Zhentou Police Station on the evening of March 25, 2024. She is currently detained in the No. 2 Detention Center.
