(Minghui.org) I am a young Dafa practitioner who followed my family into Dafa cultivation when I was a child. Growing up, I gradually understood Dafa rationally, and began to actively study the Fa and practice cultivation. My life has changed a lot in the past year or so, and I would like to share some of my experience in clarifying the truth to my coworkers.
I was transferred to a different office last year. I already knew all the coworkers, as we had met in the past, but I had no in-depth interactions with them. I kept reminding myself to focus on work, avoid getting involved in conflicts, and make an effort to keep the office clean, hoping I would present a positive image and lay a good foundation for truth-clarification in the future.
My coworker Aifen was a bit of an oddball and an egotist. I told myself not to belittle her and never show on my face that she was just living her life by scripts. Besides, to save her through Dafa is the most important thing to do in my cultivation.
In a casual conversation, Aifen said she was once at a bus stop when an older woman approached and talked to her, and no more than a few sentences later, began to talk about Falun Gong. She was scared away immediately.
Another coworker commented that she should not have engaged in conversation with a stranger. Aifen agreed that she had let her guard down because the old woman appeared kind and friendly. I said nothing, but I sent righteous thoughts, hoping to find an opportunity to clarify the truth to her.
Aifen frequently had conflicts with other coworkers and managers, but I avoided any confrontations with her. She was transferred to another office six months later, but soon resigned, as she did not get along with the new manager. I wanted to explain the facts about Dafa to her and began to send righteous thoughts intensely to eliminate any evil elements that attempted to interfere.
When Aifen completed the exit procedures and came to my office to return some materials, I closed the door behind her and chatted about her work and life for a few minutes. I then said, “I remember you said you once ran into an old woman who spoke to you about Falun Gong. Do you know what Falun Gong is? It teaches people to be good. And, by the way, the Tiananmen Square self-immolation was staged.” “Huh?” she replied. “What do you mean it was staged?”
I replied, “Yes. In fact, Falun Gong teaches people to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. It started in Changchun City in 1992, and by 1999, 100 million people were practicing it. Out of jealousy, the former CCP head Jiang Zemin began persecuting the practice. Falun Gong is a kind of faith, and it teaches Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Practicing it does not break any law.”
I answered her questions and suggested that the old woman at the bus stop only had good intentions and meant her no harm. She agreed, and she said that the old woman had just brought up the topic a little too quickly.
I told her that many people were quitting the CCP and its youth organizations, and I explained to her why people cultivate in Dafa. I suggested that she do it too because it was for her own good, as she would be spared from future calamities. She looked very receptive and agreed to quit the CCP. I told her to remember “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” before we bid each other farewell. She accepted what I said from beginning to end. I wondered if she was being perfunctory.
Before long, I saw that she posted on social media that she just passed a professional qualification exam that she had failed several times before. Not long after that, she passed the interview and obtained the professional qualification certificate. I was happy for her.
I worked with a young man named Bowen. He also told me that he was at the bus stop one day, and an older man talked to him about Falun Gong, and that he stopped the old man and left. I commented, “Maybe the old man didn’t mean any harm, but just wanted to share something with you.” Bowen replied, “I didn’t want to hear any of that either.” He then mentioned the “Tiananmen self-immolation,” and I said, “It was staged.” He did not object to it. I did not have a chance to clarify the truth to him.
Bowen also tendered his resignation after Aifen left the company. A coworker and I took him out for dinner. When the coworker went to pay the bill, I talked to Bowen in the lobby and explained to him what Falun Gong is, and why the “Tiananmen Self-immolation” was staged. I told him that he shouldn’t believe the propaganda on TV, and helped him quit the CCP and its youth organizations. The lobby was noisy, but the whole process was peaceful. Bowen said he would remember that Falun Dafa is good. I was happy for him.
Bowen was indeed blessed. He got paid almost twice as much in his new job. I came to understand that as long as I have the heart to do something, Master will pave the way.
I tend to be a person whose mind is always on the go. Sometimes I dig into the bull’s horn, and other times I know that I created a kink, but could not let it go, and my attachments linger. I decided to do something about it, and I remembered that Master said that our true self is pure and kind, so I was certain those distracting thoughts were not from my true self, and that they were interfering with me.
I used a slow-witted method, which was to say in the mirror every morning, “I am a cultivator, I am a cultivator, those things are not me, they are not me.” I repeated it over and over. I also repeated those words in my mind during the day as much as possible, and the effect was good. Through continuous Fa study, I indeed let go of many of my human thoughts that were constantly weighing losses and gains.
I am still young, but I have been cultivating Dafa for many years and have had some pleasant experiences. Through thick and thin, I have sometimes done well, and sometimes done poorly. What has never changed was that I have Master’s help all along, I am infinitely grateful to Master! I am also grateful to my fellow practitioners for their help. I hope that in the final days, we live up to Master’s expectations, keep our original intentions in mind, and move forward despite hardships.
