(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Xin Linyuan’s case was recently brought to the Dawukou District Court in Shizuishan City by the Dawukou District Procuratorate.
The Linghai City Court issued a verdict on March 25, 2024, and sentenced 80-year-old Ms. Wang Guixia to one year and three months in prison and fined her 2,000 yuan. Ms. Wang appealed to the Jinzhou City Intermediate Court on April 2. As of April 28, Linhai City Court had not yet sent her appeal case files to the intermediate court.
Ms. Yang Songmei from Zhaoyuan City was arrested while talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers market on the morning of April 28, 2024. She was taken into custody. Further details are not yet available.
Mr. Zhao Xiaoning and his wife Ms. Zhang Xueya from Liquan County, Xianyang City, were arrested by officers from the Yanta District Domestic Security Division in Xi’an City around April 26, 2024. They are being held in the Yanta District Detention Center.
Ms. Du Caijun was arrested at home by officer Cai Hanxu from the Tongxin Police Station and others on April 19, 2024. These people ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a cell phone, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Gong books. Ms. Du was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center. She fell ill as a result the persecution and was her son brought her home on April 30.
Mr. An Zhaoxu from Liucun Village, Qingyuan County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, worked in Beijing. His wife Ms. Liu Meili went to Beijing to join him. On April 25, 2024, they were arrested by officers from Dayu Sub-district Police Station.
Elderly Mr. Xu and his wife were arrested at home by officers from the Heshun Street Police Station in Erdao District on April 19, 2024. Their home was ransacked. Mr. Xu’s wife was released at 8 p.m. that evening.
Ms. Yang Xueping from Jincheng Original Seeding Farm in Linghai City was arrested on December 5, 2023, while talking to people about Falun Gong at the Baitaizi farmers market. Her family members said Ms. Yang was sentenced to two years in prison.
Ms. Zhu Guangrong was photographed and reported to the police when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on Jianghan Road. She was arrested and taken to the Dijiao Brainwashing Center in mid-April 2024.
Ms. Feng Yuezhen from the Huangzhuang Village, Fanggang Township, was arrested at home by officers from the Yuzhou City Domestic Security Division at noon on April 22, 2024.
Mr. Tian and his wife from Konggang Economic Zone, Jiutai District, were arrested between April 20 and 22, 2024. Further details are not yet available.
Li Tao and other plainclothes officers from the Beigu Police Station, together with two community management staff members, went to 74-year-old Ms. Deng Xiugui’s home on the afternoon of April 24, 2024. They took pictures and confiscated Falun Gong books.
Liu Ziqiu and Sun Jianrong from Mouping District were reported to the police by Xilugezhuang Village security director in the Mouping District on the morning of April 28, 2024, when the two practitioners talked to him about Falun Gong. Both practitioners were arrested by officers from the Dayao Police Station. The Dayao Village security director led officers from the police station to search both practitioners’ homes. They confiscated the photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books from Sun’s home. Both practitioners were released on bail for one year.
Ms. Gong Qingwei, 58, was about to board the high-speed train in Rizhao City with her daughter in mid-April 2024. When she went through the security checkpoint, the guards found a Falun Gong book and took Ms. Gong and her daughter into custody. After negotiating with the guards, Ms. Gong and her daughter were rebooked to another train that afternoon.
Ms. Qin Zhengfang, 65, was arrested in the street by officers from the Zhenjiangsi Police Station on the morning of April 28, 2024. The police took her keys and ransacked her home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books. Ms. Qin was taken to the Yongxing Town Detention Center that day.
