(Minghui.org) Practitioners held an event on May 12, 2024 to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day and the 32nd anniversary of Falun Dafa’s introduction. May 13 coincides with the founder’s, Mr. Li Hongzhi’s birthday. The celebration was held at the Holt Neighbourhood Hall in the Holt district and was attended by dignitaries and people from all walks of life and ethnic groups.
Practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises, and gave musical and dance performances.

MP: Thank You for the Precious Gift Falun Gong Has Brought to the Canberra Community
Andrew Braddock, a member of the Green Party for the Capital Territory, and spokesman for the Green Party’s multicultural affairs, was present to congratulate and praise Falun Gong (Falun Dafa) and practitioners for their outstanding contribution to multiculturalism and the community.

“I’m extremely grateful to Falun Gong for what it is contributing to the Canberra community. The opportunity for as a community to come together and share a spiritual practice and belief, a chance to come together and practice meditation, those are the few things that Canberra is richer for by you being here,” he said.
MP Andrew Braddock added, “And with truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance, that is a mighty fine byline for what we want to see in Canberra. So I’d like to thank the Falun Gong community for what you are gifting the Canberra community. Your contribution to the community is very much appreciated. [Falun Dafa spreading to the world] is a fantastic achievement. Congratulations to all of you, and enjoy your World Falun Dafa Day.”
Australia-Vietnamese Community Leader: Falun Gong Brings Well-Being to the Whole Community
Mr. Cong Le, president of the Australian Vietnamese community, told practitioners, “The celebration is very well organized and very informative. The atmosphere is very warm.”
Cong Le, president of the Vietnam Community Australia Chair, said, “I cherish Falun Dafa very much.”
Mr. Le said, “I have a lot of respect and appreciation for Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa developed very fast in the early days because it benefits many people. This is why Dafa is so widely accepted by more than 100 countries in the world. Before 1999, one out of 13 people in China practiced Falun Dafa, which is a large percentage.”
He added that he and his family witnessed the power of true faith, “Today I have learned a lot about Falun Gong. About 20 years ago I spent a lot of time learning about Falun Gong. I know that this is a peaceful spiritual cultivation method, and in the persecution you stick to your belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and are stoic. This is why Falun Gong has persevered to this day in the face of brutal persecution.”
He continued, “I am very happy to see that Falun Gong is widely spread all over the world. My youngest daughter is in high school, and she learned about Falun Gong, which is great. I agree that Falun Gong is suitable for people of all ages and brings well-being to the entire community. Hold on and the good people of the world are behind you to support you.”
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Admirable
Dawa Sangmo, the Chinese liaison officer at the Central Tibetan Administration-in-Exile Office in Australia, said, “I have the privilege of participating in this important celebration today, and I can feel everyone’s respect for the founder, Mr. Li. I learned that the core principle of practicing Falun Gong is Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and it is admirable to guide practitioners to cultivate their hearts and minds. I also saw their firm belief while facing the persecution. I feel that the atmosphere here is very peaceful and warm, which is a show of kindness.”
Dawa Sangmo, Chinese liaison officer of the Tibetan Central Government-in-Exile Office in Australia, said she admired practitioners’ persistence despite the persecution.
She also said, “The CCP has been deceiving the world and suppressing all kinds of beliefs under the guise that religion is poison, and the beliefs that people pursue in their hearts have been suppressed, attacked, and deprived. This is the basic right of human life, and we will continue to fight for this right with determination.”
