(Minghui.org) May 13 is World Falun Dafa Day, which has been celebrated since 2000. It’s also the anniversary of the date when Falun Dafa was first introduced to the public by Master Li Hongzhi.
On this day, in major cities around the world such as New York, Paris, London, Sydney, Munich, and Toronto, colorful parades and other events are held in celebration. On the eve of this holiday, May 12, 2024, practitioners in Dnipro held their own celebratory event.
Falun Dafa practitioners held an event on May 12 in Dnipro to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.
The event featured Falun Dafa exercise demonstrations and flyers with information about the practice that practitioners distributed. They also provided interested people with Internet links to learn more about Falun Dafa, including sites to learn the exercises and read the books of the practice’s teachings.
Natalya, a resident of Dnipro, said that she was interested in meditation and practices to restore the body and improve health. She learned about Falun Dafa for the first time at the event and wanted to know more about this self-improvement cultivation way.
Regarding the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, Natalia said, “It’s important that people know that there are such principles and such a culture. You just need to not be lazy, to study, to get the bad out of your head, and to instill goodness in yourself.”
Natalya agreed with Falun Dafa’s principles.
For many passersby, the event was the first time they'd heard about Falun Dafa. This was welcome news to many practitioners, as their goal in hosting a celebratory event like this was to spread awareness of the practice that has benefited them in so many ways.
On this special day, many practitioners expressed their gratitude to Master Li for introducing the practice that has made their lives better, including Lilia, a new practitioner.
Lilia began practicing six months ago after she heard about Falun Dafa in one of the city parks where practitioners do the exercises together. She keeps the first informational newspaper about the practice, which practitioners gave her, in a prominent place at home. She also regularly reads the book Zhuan Falun.
“Dafa, in my understanding, is truthfulness, kindness and patience. These are three words that bring me joy,” said Lilia. “Every time [they inspire me] to improve. When I see practitioners doing the exercises and hear the Dafa music, it makes me want to practice, too.”
Lilia added that while doing the exercises outside, she’s happy when she sees passersby who come to understand the importance of morality, kindness, and truthfulness.
