(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qin Xiujuan Sentenced

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Qin Xiujuan Sentenced

Ms. Qin Xiujuan of the Hongshan District was arrested by Sanjintan Police Station officers for posting stickers that said “Falun Gong is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in a subway station. The police ransacked her home, and seized her Falun Gong books and other items. The Hanyang Court sentenced Ms. Qin to three years and four months in prison. She appealed with the Wuhan City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict. She has been admitted to the Hubei Province Women’s Prison in Wuhan. The guards denied Ms. Qin family visits because she refuses to renounce Falun Gong. 

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Miao Yawen and Ms. Pan Shuxian Detained

Ms. Miao Yawen and Ms. Pan Shuxian, both in their 70s, were arrested at around 10 p.m. on August 6, 2024 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes and seized about 15,000 yuan in cash, and Falun Gong printouts. They are being held in the Changchun City Detention Center.

3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yunqiao Detained

Ms. Liu Yunqiao of Fengzheng Township, Jize County, was arrested for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong by Fengzheng Township Police Station officers in July 2024. She is being held in the Handan City Third Detention Center.

4. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Ou Xuehui and Two Other Practitioners Missing

Ms. Ou Xuehui, Ms. Zhou Xulin, and a practitioner named Yao have been missing since August 13, 2024, shortly after the police harassed them.

5. [Huichun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Yanhua Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yanhua was arrested around August 6, 2024.

6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Ji’e Detained

Ms. Li Ji’e, 78, living in Xinli Village, was arrested at home by officers from the Changqing County Ping’an Town Police Station on August 7, 2024. They seized her picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, and other items. She is being held in the Zhonggong Detention Center.

7. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cheng Xinyun Arrested

Ms. Cheng Xinyun, around 55, living in Xinwen Residential District, was stalked and reported by a man for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 14, 2024. She was arrested. Her new electric bike was confiscated by the police.

8. [Ji’nan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yu Zongping Detained

Mr. Yu Zongping was was given 13 days of detention on August 2, 2024.

9. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shuxiang under Home Arrest

Ms. Zhang Shuxiang, 76, was arrested by Linglong Town Police Station officers for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Linglong Town Street Market on the morning of August 14, 2024. She was taken to the Quanshan Police Station. The police tried to put her into the Yantai Detention Center, but she was denied admission due to her poor health. She was released that same day and placed under six months of home arrest.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Wei Suwen Detained

Ms. Wei Suwen of Xicheng District was arrested by officer Gu from the Tiantan Police Station on August 15, 2024. She was put into the Dongcheng District Detention Center early the next morning.

11. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Yongqiong Faces Indictment

Ms. Wu Yongqiong, 58, was arrested at noon on February 1, 2024. She was released on bail that night. She got a call from the Dadukou Police Station on the afternoon of August 15, 2024, saying that they finished the investigation of her case and were about to submit it to procuratorate.

12. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Fenghua Harassed

Ms. Wang Fenghua was harassed at home by Chicheng County police on the morning of August 14, 2024. They seized a desk calendar printed with Falun Gong information, two flash drives and two experience sharing papers by other practitioners. They tore down her Falun Gong couplets, and threatened to arrest her if she continued to practice Falun Gong.
