On the 15th anniversary of April 25, 1999, when 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners quietly demonstrated in Beijing for the right to practice their belief, practitioners all over the world held candlelight vigils to mark the event and remember those who lost their lives to the persecution. Just as importantly, they took the opportunity to raise awareness of the persecution and help people discover Falun Gong.

Practitioners and supports gathered in Ottawa and Toronto to commemorate April 25.
Efforts to tell people about Falun Gong on April 25 were not limited to outside of China, as mainland practitioners braved the CCP's persecution to put up banners.
