Practitioners in Auckland held a rally on Queen Elizabeth Square, and a parade in the city’s business district on June 20, to mark the annual United Nations International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. Many supporters attended and spoke at the rally.
The prison is notorious for abusing practitioners while attempting to force them to renounce their faith. An inmate once said to a practitioner, “As long as we don’t torture you to death, we will make your life worse than death!”
